I am designing an experiment that is exploring wildness/fear/tameness in game birds and the implications for stocking/reintroduction. I am using northern bobwhite quail as a case study. I have a few questions. I have plenty of experience raising game birds but none with quail. There is a lot of information out there but I wanted to get some thoughts from the people on here and some other forums.
What is the recommended...?: - Area ft^2 or cm^2 for BW from 1 day of age to 4-6 weeks? - Height of for brooding pens - Size of floor wire? 1/4"x1/4"? (Assuming they are raised on wire)
Some more questions? - What are the pros & cons of raising bobwhites on wire/ground? - How tame/wild have you found captive raised bobwhite quail to be from 1 day old to 4-6 weeks? Please briefly outline brooding conditions and the amount of human interaction.
Thanks again,
Tom
