I picked up 200 Quail almost 3 weeks ago and they are doing well.I have only lost 3 so far.I'm a bit worried about how they are going to do going from the brooder to the J houses in November.I figure if they have plenty of straw and cracked corn they should do ok here in central TX.I still have 50 from the last batch that I plan on turning out so the new batch can take over the houses.I had 2 coveys escape (at seperate times) that seem to be doing quite well! The pup finds them every now and then.I am hoping that the adult birds have had enough experiance to make it through the winter.I am going to release them where they are and just move the houses a few hundred yards away and restock with the lil ones.If it is going to get to cold I figure I will just make something to keep them warm with my hunting warmers or just put some plastic around the houses.
