I am looking for ideas on using 5 gallon plastic buckets for quail feeders for wild and released quail.  I have an abundant supply.  I saw somewhere an insert that you can put in the bottom of the feeder to let the feed out without spillage.  Any help would be appreciated, especially pictures.

Ok if you deer hunt you have seen the 5 gallon deer feeders right ?
Thats the same idea your after they have a conal insert which keeps feed traveling to center
You cand do this with any semi-ridged plastic just make a circle bigger than the bottom of bucket, cut halfway through and make a hole in the middle
As far as feed dispensing a feeder motor or funnel tube is necessessary
A feeder tube can be made from 1.5 inche pvc dropped down to a pan
To keep feed dry make another round piece and attach above pan just make sure its larger than pan
You can also cut 2 inch holes approx 4-6 in 5 gallon bucket and bend them in toward bucket works well if kept off ground a bit
