the wife and I were getting into the truck to go shopping and one of the ducks out back was quacking away. I commented that the duck was noisy.  the wife replied yes thats the female!  females are the ones that make all the noise! she immediately realized what she just said but it was too late.   j33 s020

j41 yeah she was right female ducks are noiser than the male ducks, doesn't make sense to me why the female would be louder but i guess waterfowl are different than other birds.

He probably thought you meant "You quack me up birdy !"

He certainly is consistant, almost predictable.  I'm sure he'll say he really understood, all along.

I read a study, somewhere that females have the need to express something like 100,000 words per day.  Men about 25,000.  By the time the man gets through a day at work, he's already past his limit.  If the little lady is at home all day, she's likely to have 80,000 or more remaining.  If she works outside the home, maybe 40,000.  I'm sure the remainder of those carry over from day to day.  Makes for interesting weekends, sometimes!

You have quite a complex complex, there.  You must deal with some real daisies.

I think that may explain why men do not, or appear to not listen.  I thought that was obvious in the statement.

And no, I think that if a man listened, and acknowledged all that was said to him, it would simply encourage twice as many words.

The biological need to express that much is not dependant on absorption, or a responce.  Women often get upset, if they mention a problem, and a man reacts by solving the problem, or is frustrated by being unable to do so.  I've often been told by women that they didn't expect me to fix the problem, they just needed to talk about it.  In that case, they should be talking to a government agent, or politician.

I still wonder:  If a man speaks and there is no woman to hear him;  is he still wrong?
