Courtnix Quail eggs hatch on the 16-17th day, and you stop turning on the 15th day. Does that mean don't turn at all on the 15th, or your last turn is the night of the 15th? Thanks

alot of websites say stop turning 3 days before hatch. Also the same ones say courtnix quail hatch in 17-18 days. So, it's still turn through the 15th day, and don't turn again, so the last turn is the night of the 15th?

Yes. It is not that critical. A chicken hen does not know if it is the 18th or the 20th day.

i don't stop turning my eggs either, even when hatched my chicks keep turning in my incubator until i take them out. i have very good results with this. because if you stop turning to early you have high risk of getting crooked toes.

I cant believe that ya'll hatch in the incubator, ever heard of a hatcher.. I guess if the incubator is all you have but we put the egga into a hatcher on day 15 and lower the temp and raise the humidity.. I only hatch about 18,000 a week.. works for me

I've heard of a hatcher.

For me, the reason I don't have one is I can't justify it for my volume. I hope this to be my first hatch ever. I anticipate maybe hatching 50 eggs per month once I really get going. So all in, all out works for me. If I were to hatch once a week, the brooders wouldn't be clear, plus I would need cages for all the different age groups, and did I mention I live on a suburban lot?

Certainly my answer would be different if I were aiming for 18,000 a week. I admire that volume.

we started as a hobby but it has gotten WAY past that now..LOL

I wish you luck in your hatches, we have 14 barns FULL. it's alot of work but it's a pretty good living.. unless you like vacations.. dang birds just like to eat everyday..

If I can help let me know

I have a hatcher at home, i used it in the pased but i find that i have better results with my roulroul and hill partridges hatching inside the incubator. the eggs get to much of a shock when placing them in the hatcher, after all they are very sensitive birds.
i use my hatcher for chicken eggs and sometimes for other easier quail such as chinese painted or harlequin if i do'nt have enough space in my incubator
