Title: New to quail
Post by: euphoricgear on January 08, 2014, 01:59:04 AM
Hello, I'm new to the quail world. I have done as much research as I can and I just got my first fertile eggs. They have been in the incubator for 2 days now, my daughter is very excited and checks on them all the time.

I have one quick question. They say that the temp needs to be @ 99.5-100 and humidity needs to be around 40%. I can't seem to keep my humidity that low and was wondering if that is okay or if it 's bad. My humidity right now is around 75-80%.

I've placed a sponge and wet it for humidity, but it still gets up there. I have those reptipro 6000 incubator.
What can I do to keep my humidity consistent to 40-50%

Thanks

Im not familiar with the reptipro.  Try removing the sponge.  On the GQF cabinet incubators you can regulate the water in the tray and open the vent in the back.  Too high humidity may cause a wet and sticky hatch
