Is there any kind of medication that i need to get for open wounds on the back of the heads of some of my Quail?

I think wounds will probably heal on their own if not too severe and if the cause of the injury has been corrected.

i have been told to use vicks vapor rub on it the spot helps it heal and stops the otheres for pecking at it while it heals
havent had the problem (yet) though
