Clear and easy to navigate, good pictures.
Now before someone else jumps in, do you have to have NPIP or any other form of acreditation on there?

No NPIP yet, as this is at an all new address. Pens are in the process of being built right now, as are the barns, and roll out cages will be moved once the barn is up. New address in MI means new NPIP cert, which will be done either late summer or early fall. All of our birds are from NPIP stock, and we are liscenced by the state.

Hi Chris

Hmmm.... kinda wierd for the dial up guys. I'll have to look into that one, might even switch over to a different hosting provider. MY ISP will host a small site for free, but is not the best for what I 'd like to be able to do. I'm testing the order page, and it's format isn't supported....

for prices, click the 'eggs' button, and then click the picture or the underlined name of the bird...

thanks for the feedback!

I got to the home page this morning, but no matter which button I picked that page was empty (blank).

I have dsl and the home page pics loaded a little slow, I think your picture sizes are too big, especially for dial up folks, which is why they aren't seeing them (it's taking too long for them to download).

Try compressing your pictures (under edit) and choose "web page" size.  You can get by with much less for a website.

Anyway, this is what I ran into when doing the bird dog club website I belong to.  It's easy to set it up for your viewing but you have to think about what everyone else out there has too and make it work for everyone.

Another thing I ran into was monitor size.  There are many 15" monitors still in use and if you make your page too wide, there will be people having to use the slide bar to pan back and forth, which is very disturbing for those people.

I am also on Dinosaur Dial up, but it works good for me, I can open all the pages and click on all the pictures, such as the Tenn. Reds and get the egg prices $4.00 for 12.

Nope.  Have never had a problem with any website,  to date.  As far as I know, I don't have of that stuff running on my PC.  Had same problem at work with 2 different PC's on DSL as far as those pages being blank too.

Got me?    :-|

Thanks!!

Must be our "HillBilly Hookup" down here in these here stick covered hills?

Maybe that wind yesterday broke off the wires that those other pages are runnin' through between here and Michigan, while still intact northwest of there, where all the money is at?   ^-^

Thanks for the feedback guys. Will work on it some more this week/ weekend, and hopefully figure out why it wont load the other pages for some. I'm sure it's something in publisher messing up when it converts to the web format.

Weird that some people are having problems, whereas others with similar connection are not.... have some more work to do I see, lol.

Hunter - No go on the pheasants. I am selling off all of my breeders of all the pheasants, as the space and feed requirements no longer make them a worthwhile investment. The return on the pheasants vs the cost of feed is about dead even right now, and I'm figuring feed is gonna go up a bit more again this year. If you're looking for some proven breeders, I have about a dozen red golden trios, a few yellow trios, and a couple pair of lady amherst for sale. Let me know if you're interested. Pick up only.

Anyway, I'll work on the site some more this week and see if I cant get it 100%

Thanks again guys!

Hey Chris,

Your website is great. The pictures loaded okay for me, but you need to optimize the images so they load faster for those with dial up. s98

Dial up here in Puckerbrush MI. Homepage loaded in reasonable time. The other pages were white. I waited for quite awhile & they did not load for viewing. It only shows a white page. No firewall problems or pop up blocker problems here. Nice pics on the home page.

You have one of the fastest loading sites I've been to. Nice Pics. very crisp & clear. Good prices also.

Everything seemed to work fine for me. Easy to navagate and find what I was looking for.

Hey Mag, loaded well for me, DSL user. Good or bad, not bad. One thing; a bit long winded, for example: on Bobwhite's, stop at " table fare" and  " beginners" Otherwise quite good, I may be looking for some Bob's soon. Not a bad price. Dave.

greyghost,

What does the address bar on top show on each individual area?

I still get the samething as before, the only page that has anything is the main page.

All other pages are blank with the code on the bottom bar reading

I am running Hughes Satelite, so I don't think this has any bearing on the issues of the pages not showing up.

Must be something to do on magnumhntr's end? I remember you host at home so could be a setting or dns issues?

If you guys right click the links on the page and copy and use that link, does it work?

Chris,
Something is messed up with the navigation buttons, I think.  Home page loads perfect for me.

No matter which navigation button I click, I get a solid white page.

However, If I manually change the address bar to the page I want to view It takes me to that page, changes the dot infront of the navigation button to blue from tan and I can see every page by doing this.

Example:
http://mmgamebirds.com/ is the homepage.  If I manually type index_Page401.html behind the last slash, it takes me to the "about us" page and I can see it just fine.

Thanks guys. I think I am on to something. I had to reload my computer over the weekend, and windows XP installs IE6 initially. After reloading windows, I went to work on the site, and using IE6 I got the same problem, but when using IE7 and Firefox, I could surf the site with no problems. So, I think it is a IE6 issue, and I'm trying to figure out what it may be that the site needs to be compatible with IE6. Let me know what browser you're using so I can get a better handle on it.

Thank you guys! Truely a help!

First post, but been lurking for a while....

I know this thread is kinda old, but ...

I am a Computer Nerd by trade.  I noticed that your host it charter.net.  are you on charter service for your house?  Are you using the included webspace for your site?  Alot of providers that have that service.  They are most likely throttling your bandwidth during peak times.  This could be why we are getting some images, and some people are not getting them.  If person a visited when not throttling, and get the pics, and then visited during peak times, your pc will have the pics cached and will not need to copy them from the server, but will get them out of temp internet files.

There should be no diff in the way a client access's your site (other than load times.)  The server will not know that you are on dialup, DSL, T1, OC48, all it see's is an ip address requesting a page, and then it sends the page to the ip address requesting it.

Tell ya what, i have a server on a 10 meg pipe, quad power, and quad cooling (air conditioners), that i have leased.  My customers foot the bill for the server already, and have mad space left.  If interested, i will set ya up an account, and we can transfer it to there.  Servers been running for over 3 years non-stop.  It is red hat linux enterprise.  you can run php, mysql, imap, pretty much anything ya want on it, just no front page.  It does not play well with linux (high load times, errors in scripts, etc).  Give ya some email addys too like, yourname@yoursite.com.

Trade ya for some eggs?
