You should be able to contain a fair amount of birds in there.

Building one myself and I was leaning toward this construction.  My challenge....

1. I want at least 12 ft of height so the birds learn to fly up rather than across.  Makes for better/safer shooting
2. I need it to be strong against wind so side supports or large enough span. 
3. I need it to support the weight of ice which we seem to get more than snow in Tennessee

So, my questions to all, especially if you have built one.  How long and thick of PVC do you use?  Have you had any trouble with weather?  Also, with it being on the ground, how bad does the ground get?
