Title: Blood rings?
Post by: ncffp163 on May 29, 2006, 10:53:49 PM
Hi Ya'll,

Correct me if I'm wrong but, blood rings are bad...right?? I candled 108 bob eggs tonight. Dropped 1, 4 were infertile and 2 had blood rings around the middle.

Blood rings mean they started to develop and then died early.  This doesn't mean anything except there was something going on that prevented further develpment, either caused by external or internal problems.  Toss them.

Thanks Wood. I recandled the 2. And saw movement in 1 of them. Would it still be ok, or toss that 1 too?

While a blood ring happens after death, if you see movement you can let it continue.  Re-candle in a week and see if there has been any development.  You can make the decision then.
