and start living my dream once and for all
Quoteand start living my dream once and for allGood Luck. Those farming dreams can be real nightmares, and you better have a big pile of this: $$$$$$$$
Good Luck to you You can always tell the people who grew up a little more city than country. My wife (Vegas girl) thought it would be fun to take over my parents dairy farm too, until I told her what my mom's day entailed. She decided it wasn't such a good idea anymore. My great grandparents built it though, so I'm still dumb enough to entertain the thought...
Yeah, just try to go on vacation for a week or even a weekend with just 2 dogs, a cat, 6 chickens, 2 goats, and quail. The dairy farm (grew up working on one) is a whole 'nother ball game.........milking cows is twice a day, every day, no matter what. Most neighbors, friends, and even family aren't up for that. Meanwhile, the barns are falling down, fence needs built/repaired, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc. ~$$$~
I can totally agree with the dairy farm running your life thing... Mom and dad didn't stay married due to it. Mom likes to go, go, go, and Dad can never leave... But a few goats can be manageable. Maybe... Good luck! I wouldn't mind gathering a few myself sometime in the near future. Gotta talk the hubby into it....
just gotta luv animals and be content with that j45
